Couples Therapy

If problems arise for one or both partners in a partnership and disputes, communication problems and lack of appreciation lead to a decrease in the quality of the relationship, a couples therapist should be consulted.

Couples therapy can also be helpful in altering dysfunctional behavioral patterns in a partnership that are already having a chronic effect on the relationship.

Another reason for seeking couples therapy may be sexual dysfunction or sexual dissatisfaction (including sexual aversion, sexual dysfunction, pain also caused by PTSD).

Couples therapy gives you the opportunity to uncover dysfunctional beliefs regarding relationships, recognize conflict patterns, practice communication skills and develop problem-solving strategies.

Some clients however, seek consultation in order to further enhance the relationship positively and successfully.

Please note that couples therapy is generally not covered by statutory or private health insurance companies. Couples therapy is regarded as an additional individual health service (IGeL). The cost for consultation and therapy must be carried by the couples themselves.
